Interview Questions
What three words would you use to describe yourself? Why?
If I had to describe myself in three words, I would choose persistent, hard working, and charismatic. I would choose persistent because ever since I was little, I have never been one to give up. If someone tells me I can't do something, I want to prove them wrong. It's not in my nature to just stop and give up on something, especially when it's important to me. I would choose hard working, because in order to prove those people wrong, it takes a lot of hard work. It's not something that just happens, it's something that one has to make happen. When someone says that a task is impossible, it's not always that it can't be done, but that no one is willing to put in the work, but I am not someone who won't put in the work that's required. Finally, I would also choose charismatic because I love interacting with others. I want them to have the same passion that I feel. Talking with others, finding out what they love, and inspiring them as well really makes me who I am and it's something I truly enjoy being able to do. It also helps me create connections with others and form important relationships.
What is your greatest strength? What is your greatest weakness?
My greatest strength is definitely my passion to complete things. By that I mean that I hate leaving something unfinished. I always want to complete what I start and finish it with the same passion I started it with. I put my all into the projects and relationships I start and my biggest priority is making sure that I don't leave things unfinished. No matter what happens, I will complete what I start and complete it to the best of my abilities. However, my greatest weakness is probably my perfectionist tendencies. This is because I want everything to be done a certain way. If I'm taught to do something one way, I want it done that way because that is the right way. While this can be good in some situations, it can hurt in others. With that said, I've been working on it and figuring out when it can help, and holding myself back when it can hurt. Being able to have the self control to hold back is also very important and something I work on in addition to my tendencies.
If a customer asked you a question and you didn't know the answer, what would you do?
If a customer asked me a question I didn't know the answer to, the very first thing I would do is inform them that I'm not 100% sure what the answer to their question is. However, if they still wanted me to attempt to answer their question, I would do it to the best of my ability, making sure I only relay information I am completely sure about, and offer to call a manager or someone who could better answer their question. If a manager is unavailable to speak with the customer at that moment, I would speak with them to get the correct information and relay it to the customer. No matter what happens, I want to make sure that the customer has all the correct information they need to make the best decision.
Describe your school attendance record.
My school attendance record is close to perfect. I rarely stay home because school is important. I take a lot of pride in my grades and the effort I put into my assignments. I don't skip because education is a privilege and I don't intend to waste it. The only time I ever miss school is if I'm very sick or if there is an emergency within my family. I try to schedule my doctor's appointments around my school schedule, and everything else can wait until I'm out of class. Within the past six years, I have missed one and a half days for being sick. I don't like missing anything, because it also makes it much harder to keep track of work and what I have to do to make everything up. I won't put others at risk if I'm sick, however I make sure that before I miss class, the reason is legitimate and there's nothing I can do to change the situation.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
My proudest accomplishment has been when I won the regional bowling competition my junior year, qualifying for states for the second year in a row. Of course I was proud of myself for accomplishing a goal I had set in the beginning of the season, but that's not why it's my proudest accomplishment. It's my proudest accomplishment because I could see how proud my coaches were. I looked back and saw my coach, whom I have known since I was three years old, with the happiest look I have ever seen. I turned around to see my mother crying out of pure joy. I realized that yes, I was the one that was actually out there throwing the ball, but they were taking every single frame with me. I wasn't alone, and they had also put their all into this competition and season. So, this isn't my proudest accomplishment because of what it did for me, but because it made so many other people happy and showed them that their hard work had also paid off.
How many tennis balls can you fit in a limousine?
Assuming the limousine is around the size of a typical 24 person party bus, and the tennis balls are a standard size, I can confidently say I could fit at least 25,000 balls. The question says nothing about keeping the balls in tact, which means I could put them through a wood chipper. This would save a lot of room in the limousine and allow me to fit more than if I just placed the complete balls into the car. A complete tennis ball has a lot of air in it, which takes up a lot of room, so cutting the ball up, or putting it through a wood chipper really is the best option, as it would allow me to get rid of the excess space being taken up by the air inside of the balls.
