Work Experience

DSW Warehouse

I currently work at DSW Warehouse as a Sales Associate. I started in August of 2018 and have been there ever since. It is a great job that gives me a lot of opportunities to interact with the community and help others. I have gained many skills such as learning to work a cash register, dealing with difficult customers, and listening to others and helping them find exactly what they're looking for. We always try to increase the amount of people signing up for our VIP Rewards program, so one of the main parts of my job is showing off our amazing program and informing the customers of the great perks and coupons they can get if they sign up with me.

South Lyon Community Schools

Along with DSW, I also work as a theater technician in the high school theaters in South Lyon Community School District. This is a very unique opportunity that was offered to me through the high school theatre program. I had learned how to work both the sound and light boards by the end of my freshman year, and was offered to start working the light systems for outside companies in May of my junior year. This has been an extremely cool experience and something that I'm so thankful I've had the opportunity to be a part of. Very few students get the chance to work at their school, and it's shown me how hard everyone works, and allowed me to see things from a staff member's point of view, instead of only a student's.

Pinz Bowling Center

Additionally, I wored as a Party Host and Porter at Pinz Bowling Center. I started working at Pinz in march of 2017, when I was 15 years old. I was one of the youngest people they had ever hired, so it was a very eye opening experience for me. It was my first job, and it taught me how to interact with customers, how to keep a party happy, how to entertain little kids, and so much more. I had to listen to the needs and wants of the customers, and figure out how I could keep the party guests happy as well. Along with working with the customers, this job taught me how to work with other people at the company as well. Since I had never had a job, I learned how to work with a manager, how to make good first impressions, and how to make sure that I'm doing my job to the best of my abilities. Along with that, I have also been named Party Host of the Month, for my care and ability to handle any situation a party throws at me. I always make sure that I'm polite, and if something is wrong, I figure out how I can fix it.
